Heart Healthy Granola

This naturally sweetened healthy granola recipe is full of heart-healthy ingredients. It’s easily customizable and great for meal prepping.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • cup roasted chopped almonds
  • cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • ½ cup chia seeds
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • cup melted coconut oil
  • cup honey (or maple syrup for vegan)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients including spices.
  • In a small bowl combine all wet ingredients and mix until incorporated.
  • Next pour the wet mixture onto the dry ingredients.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the granola mixture evenly onto the pan.
  • Bake for 15 minutes and then stir the granola. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
  • Allow the granola to cool completely. Store in an airtight container

Notes

If you have a gluten sensitivity you can sub the oats for a gluten-free version or completely omit the oats all together and add in more nuts
